I often work on music when I should be sleeping, like right now. Perhaps that says something about me, or indicates that something is wrong with my brain. I think it is the latter, but it has been something that I have been doing since I was in my teens.

I spent the last-past weekend with my uncle, who I haven’t seen in about five years. He’s really fond of family and the past, and though he’s twice my age, his memory is sharper than mine. It made me think about the past a bit though, and I realize that I hardly think of it now. I’m constantly thinking of the immediate present, and the overall game plan ahead of me. I feel that as you get older, things are supposed to get better. At least that’s what I’m trying to ensure. Still, it made me think about the past when I spent time with my uncle.

The nostalgia got me thinking of how I’ve progressed musically, since that’s the space my head is in right now. Then it hit me – it has been over ten years since I was in a proper band. In fact, it has been exactly ten years when I last recorded with a band. I sort of miss that era when I was doing music, simply because it was very free and collaboration was frequent. But 1999 was also about the same time I started dabbling in doing music solo with my computer. I can hardly believe it, and in a way I feel slightly ashamed that I haven’t progressed more. 

But tonight, I will take you all along my nostalgic ride. Here’s some really old music.
