Dead or Alive, You’re Coming With Me…. Amélie…

Amélie still seeks solitude. She amuses herself with silly questions about the world below, such as “How many people has Robocop killed today?”

As this is a continuation of my prior post, I won’t go into the monotony of explaining my trace, color, fade process again.
I’ll just show you.

There is still much to be done as I continue to be dissatisfied with the the composition. To show what I’m referring to.. here’s a sample of what the pattern currently looks like…

Note the spaces. Perhaps next time I should work within comic book panels and architecturally build the pattern out so I have a template to start from.

Sooooo
Some of you may or may not have missed my presence last week.
I’ve been having ex-landlord “issues”…
If you dare click… I’ve provided a short recording (with musical accompaniment by Edd Kalehoff of Price is Right fame) of what I’ve been dealing with this past week.

I tend to collect hobbies.
As much as I love both Amélie and Robocop,
this dive into pattern making
while somewhat fun
and highly tedious
has yet to produce anything of value for me
outside of learning something new
and the humor of it.

My main passions in life has always been the cinema.
For 15 years now I’ve been losing myself to the screen
to the drama
to the moments and movements
of visually and emotionally rich films.

Next week, along with some Photographic magic
I’m going to start a short series of pieces about the directors, the writers, and the films that have impacted my life.
Alas…
I’ll leave you with a couple of clips from La Fille Sur Le Pont
AKA The Girl on the Bridge

Holy crap dealing with that crazy landlord guy must be horrible.

I gotta say I’m a little bummed that the Robo mash-up kinda fizzled out, but it’s good to know when it’s time to move on I suppose. Any reason why you chose to go with a pattern? I always thought maybe you could try a collage like this:

Shame this didn’t pan out into something a bit more substantial. But it is better to know when to move on, I suppose.

PS: that landlord guy sounds absolutely insane

I’m still working on it.. I just got bored. And I think I need to start these with more of an architecture rather than just drawing elements willy nilly.
